Mold Performance

Optical Microstructure
DCMX has a very fine grain structure that is almost completely free of coarse carbides. In this way, it has a very high toughness.
The very fine grain structure also gives the steel its isotropic feature.
Ease of Heat Treatment (Parameters)
DCMX reaches a hardness of 58-60HRc by austenitizing at 1030° C and then tempering at 2x520 ° C.This is also the most commonly applied tool steel hardening, Provides a great advantage over other special cold work tool steels, you won't have to wait for custom recharge.The maximum achievable hardness is 62.5 HRc.In order to reach it, it should be tempered at 2x500 ° C.
Hardening (Austenitizing, Quenching) temperature: 1000-1050°C, air cooling.
Tempering temperature: Low: 150-200 ° C, High: 480-560 ° C, air cooling, at least twice.
Stabilization annealing: 400° C, at least 1 hour.
Annealed hardness: ≦235HB
Hardness after hardening and tempering: 56-62.5 HRc
