About VBN Components

VBN Components was founded because the company's founders were considering a new way to produce very hard alloys. As materials experts in the cemented carbide and steel industries, they started thinking about the limitations of steelmaking at that time and asked themselves the following questions;

– Why can't you choose the most suitable and wear resistant material for a product you are designing?

– Why do you always have to limit yourself to a material that is easy to process?

They decided to find ways to overcome the barriers to machining in conventional steelmaking and began exploring the possibilities of 3D printing. In 2008, VBN Components was founded in an effort to develop new materials and an intensive testing and trial period began. In 2013, he was awarded the SKAPA development award in memory of Alfred Nobel, Sweden's top innovation award. Production was established in Uppsala a year later and product development has continued since then. Today VBN Components calls its work “Sweden's most modern steel plant”. In a public speech one day, the Swedish Prime Minister referred to VBN Components to show that the innovative future many of us dream of is actually here.
